What is the best way to learn options trading and day trading? Is there a website out there that lets you interact with those trading screens and lets you play with practice accounts? Options trading is preferential, but I am open to any ideas. I know websites like Interactive Brokers lets you have practice accounts, but you need to already have an existing real account.
What is day trading and how can i do it? I keep hearing about day trading, is it easy to learn and is it likely that i will not lose all my money doing it? How can a complete beginner learn day-trading stocks? I want to learn day-trading but it's intimidating. I think there are a lot of sites that claim to make it easy for you that are actually scams. Can someone kindly give me the needed steps to learn day-trading stocks to a complete beginner? I would rather not take classes as I'm a bit short on cash, and no, I'm not looking to get rich off of day-trading! A tiny extra income is all I want. Also, any eBooks or recommendable online day trading simulators? Thank you!
Does anyone understand day trading? If anybody has ever read any of my posts on real estate, I consider myself a fairly savvy real estate investor. However, I have heard about and want to learn about day trading in stocks. I have an idea on what it is but has anyone done it here and done well? (Or at least not lose their shirts?) Also, if you have done well, what did you do or what skills did you learn in order to be successful? Thanks in advance. PS. Is this also a good way to make money or is it a waste of time and money? Listen Max H, you shouldn't talk to your father like that or I might stop my child support payments. Tell your mom to have my kidney pies ready when I go see her or I might have to keep my pimp hand strong.... ya dig?
where to learn about Day-trading? I understand that tips are "for waiters", so this is not asking for suggestions. my question is "where can i learn some strategies, and learn about the fundamentals of day-trading?" thanks.

How much money have you made day-trading? We all know that day trading is risky. Has anyone out there made good money day trading(long term)? Tell us about yourself. How you learned, how much you make, what programs/software you use, and advice you have for anyone who is interested in getting into it.
How much money could I make day trading stocks? I'm new to stocks and am just starting to learn the ins and outs...because I'm a beginner I just want to start off day trading maybe 100 bucks worth of a stock to get the hang of it...how much could I make by just selling high and buying low all throughout the day?
Day trading? Let's say I'm a decently smart guy with a business degree and beginner level understanding of economics and I want to learn to day trade aside from what I already do. I don't care to "get rich overnight", assuming I was seriously dedicated, what would it take to be able to make some residual income day trading. Where would you start, I'm not afraid of a little hard work.
Option trading and day trading for beginners. ? I'm 16 and looking to learn about day trading and option trading. I'm looking for a book that goes through the basics of day trading and option trading and gives me the base knowledge to begin trading and would provide a jumping off point so to speak by providing basic knowledge which would enable me to understand more advanced methods of day trading. Can anyone recommend me a book, or more than one books that I should begin with? Much appreciated! Also if there are any professional day traders here that I could get in contact with to ask some questions about day trading or purpose get some short tips and lessons. If you have time for this feel free to email me at JacksonAK92@hotmail.com Thanks again. Please for the love of god don't recommend "day trading for kids" or anything like that. I'm young but I'm not stupid and I don't think such books would be helpful to me.
Can I begin day trading with only $1000? I am very interested in learning how to day trade stocks online, but have only about $1000 to start. Is it possible to trade with such a small amount? If so, which site is best? If not, how much should I plan on saving in order to get started?
What was your experience with day trading? A question for those that have tried day trading? I am considering taking a course for around $950 u.s. dollars that comes with software. Its a 2 day seminar with 25 people where you learn to day trade and the guy who does it is very conservative and very successful with it. I am not trying to get rich doing it but would like to have a goal of 150 dollars a day on average. I have about 20,000 in the bank to work with. I know a lot of people are negative about day trading but there must be people making money out there. What was your experience with day trading and did you go to a seminar to learn? Thank you. Please do not try and sell me on a course or website.
Where can I learn how to day trade? I want to be a day trader.....but first I need to learn more about it. So where's the best place to learn about day trading? What books or websites? I need to learn all about how to read charts, fundamentals, technical analysis, etc??
DAY TRADING-What do you need to know to become a successful one? Is day trading very risky? Some compare it to gambiling? Some say if you have a good system you can do very well? How does one get a system beyond looking at a company and believing in their growth. How do you learn more, do you NEED to know more? Kinda new. Can one make a living solely off of it? What steps need should be taken? THANKS!!!
Is day trading a good idea? I have been reading and studying on stock market buying and selling so far I am a beginner and have taken no action toward trading on the stock market. I am still in the learning mode but plan too trade on the market when I feel I am ready. My goal to traiding is to make a quick cash turnaround my questions are what are the risks of day traiding and which software would be best to assist me in doing this kind of trading?
I want a career change! I'm interested in stocks / day trading, any ideas help.? I've been wanting a career change for a while now. I currently am working a successful sales job, however it's just not doing it for me anymore. So I've always had an interest in the stock market, however have dedicated no time to it. Recently i've become further intrigued and have picked up a couple of books, etc. I really want to learn the trade, including day trading, and then possibly seek out a career in this area. My question is, how do I get started with no expierience? What would an entry level position entitle? I understand licenses, Series 7 & 63, but what's a good starting company and positiion to look into? I do have a college degree, but no education in this area.
Why don't more people like day-trading/investing? With enough knowledge, a person can start from $5,000 and have $20,000 by the end of the month. And I truly mean enough knowledge, because there is a very high learning curve. But once you reach that stage, the financial rewards are huge. I'm currently making $5,000 profit a month and I just learning about trading/investing in stocks, futures/commodities, and options as my main hobby about six months ago. I expect to have enough experience and strategy to be making $10,000 profit per month by the end of this year. Aside from few people in Honolulu who I know also trade successfully, there is barely anyone that I know who has a passing interest in this stuff. So I'm honestly wondering, why don't more people get into trading/investing when the financial rewards are huge?
Good JOB if want to learn trading? If I want to learn about trading the markets (day trading and swing trading primarily), what would be a good job or internship to start in? Note: I am currently a junior in college.
I have 50 grand to invest. I want to quit my job and start day trading or more likely, swing trading.? Have you made a living day trading or swing trading? How did you learn? Can you prove that you make a living doing it? Can you recommend some books to read? I would think there are people, Cramer maybe, who have become wealthy and want to share their knowledge out of generosity, but I suspect they are rare. What you would more often find are shysters who sell the hope of making money, but have never been able to do it themselves. Hence they are forced to make a living selling bogus investment techniques to the gullible. So, to repeat my question, if you can honestly say that you make a living trading stocks, how did you learn?
Which online brokers allow me to open $100 account to start? I'm interested ideally (not required) in one which I can keep my checking, etc., all there to manage using my Quicken software. Moving money between accounts is ideal. If it doesnt require fees to use Quicken's Direct Connect, so much the better. I'm interested in learning day trading. Is TD Ameritrade the best? Can I open a $100 account to try it out?
Canadian Day Trading, Need help, thanks :)? Ok, I have now learned how to successfuly day trade and now I want to know how I go about doing it. I live in Canada and I want to know the following. Where can i trade with trades at around $5-8 a trade? If i buy a stock at 10.00 a share, do i have to pay more on a margin, aka 10.04 a share? And if i were to sell that share at 11.10 would i get that price or 11.05 area? What software can i buy that has live quotes and live charts that are good with a tick by tick update or 20-30 sec updates on the stock chart for canadian charts? What are the ETF`s i need to trade Canadian or US stocks that are on the TSE? I know HSU and HSD are up and down stocks respectively with double yields. I want double yields as i was doing great trading SDS and SSO on virtual stock exchange only. Is there any other good double yield ETFs? Right now i am trading longterm (a few weeks or a week) and it costs $30 a trade (too much) and it is not possible to day trade as it takes time for money to get into my bank (B of NS) Thank you i do not know if HSU and HSD are based on the S&P in USA or the S&P in Canada
Day trading, currency, metals, futures... which one? I want to try and learn how to trade, but how do you decide which one? Especially as someone with no experience but with a somewhat stable head on shoulders. With all the obvious factors to consider such as risk, return, stability, goals, etc. what is the choice that is easiest to understand and get going on? Personally I would say my relevant issues are minimal start up costs, minimum time to invest, and low risk. However, I am open to any choice if it is appealing.
Day Trading On the NYSE? I am very interested in learning the ends and outs of day trading on the new york stock exchange. Currently I know nothing about trading stocks or shares, let alone all the terminology that goes along with it. I need to be pointed in the right direction because I want to start trading soon!
Should I give up my IT career to become a day trader for myself? Should I give up my short IT career and become a stockbroker for myself? I love investing and use every chance I get to learn more about it. Day trading among others seem like a reasonable way to make a living if you do your homework and invest wisely. Need some advice here...should I do it? I'm fairly young, 23 years old.

I am learning trading on NSE(indian mkt)by technical analysis. Can someone tell me a good desktop s/w for this? I have started learning trading in short term by using technical trading. I invest for a week's time usually in NSE market. There are many online basic technical analysis tools, but performance/speed is not good. I am basically looking for a desktop software that can help me do technical analysis of a selected set of stocks at end of the day(not necessary to have real-time data). Can someone suggest a desktop software that can get quotes from NSE at end-of-the-day and then help me do simple technical analysis so that I can decide on stocks to be picked for next day/week? thanks in advance.

Day trading SPY options: How can I do this better? (Long question)? (Note: I have real money experience with options going back to 2000, first covered calls in my IRA and then long calls in my cash account though no day trading experience with real money. I have the 25K to park in an account to satisfy the pattern day trader rules and another 10K to make the actual contract purchases.) I have a job that allows me to keep an eye on the real time stock market. Starting in January I started playing with the Virtual Trading engine at OptionXpress, daytrading options on SPY. My strategy is rather modest; I buy 5-10 ITM contracts, either put or call depending on market direction, and sell when I see the trend reverse. I chose 10 contracts because I believe that with an order size that small, if I submit a sell order at the bid it should fill immediately unless the market is moving very fast allowing me to lock in a profit if the trend reverses. I open one position at a time, I never leave my desk with an open position and I am 100% cash at market close every day. I use SPY because being a basket of 500 stocks it is buffered from sudden drastic moves in price giving me time to get out of a position with minimal loss if the price goes the wrong way on me. My immediate goal is $100 after commissions per round trip, a target that requires only a $0.15 move in option price. I don't always guess right on direction, 4 out of 5 is typical, and I am netting between $400 and $500 a day on 6-7 round trips. My $5000 initial play money stake has grown to about $15,000 since 1/19 when I started doing this seriously. I won't get rich doing this but over the course of a year that is an extra person's worth of income for my family. If it lets me do nothing more than pay off my house and fund future college for my 3 kids it is worth it. Now that I have proven to myself that this seems to be a reasonable strategy I am trying to understand what I can do better and am now in the area of "I don't know what I don't know." I know about Level 2 quotes but if these are something that can help me I am not clear how to use them. I know that there are all sorts of indicators that technical traders use but I don't know if these scale down to the day trading level. I know about the existence of the Greeks, and while I understand roughly what the numbers and equations mean, I don't know if these will help me on positions lasting 15 minutes or less. My main interest in posting this question is to find out if there are tools I can use to help me make better choices about getting in or out of a position or tell me more about what the market is doing. This strategy seems to be working okay and if I can translate this to real money I will consider myself successful. I don't want to be greedy but I certainly would like to know if I can do what I am already doing more effectively. I spent time on 888options and optionetics.com but it seems much of the content out there deals with strategies like spreads, butterflies and condors, things that simply don't apply to what I am doing. I know there are options day traders, even some specializing in SPY, who read these questions, and I'd be appreciative if I even had a list of books or even just some things to go research and learn about that you have found helpful in your experience. Thanks for reading this far and any help y'all provide. I definitely understand the problem with fills; in fact, I asked a question about that here the other day. I had noticed that I could put in a sell at a price like 3.10 and a minute later see a bid/ask spread of 3.15/3.20 with my sell order still open. My only thought was "What the ****?!" I was told by another answerer that in reality, on an order that small an ask below the bid would never stay open on something as liquid as SPY. Regarding filling at the mid, on SPY I could live with this. The options on SPY move enough intraday that even if every buy order filled at the ask and and sold at the bid I'd still make money because I am looking for moves of .15 on options that can move .30 or more in a short time. I've gotten good enough at picking the trend direction that I will buy options that are 3 or 4 points ITM. This gets me my .15 or more move with only a small move in the price of SPY.
day trading Little cash , teen needs serious input , simple explanation tips? I want to day-trade I have little money for playing around 1100 dollars. I have heard lots of different things, like u need 25k. I have also heard you could have 500 bucks. I need to really learn the basics I mean I have my own perspective on it but i have never tried this before. I am more of a wheel and dealer I buy everything and anything I see profit in from, cars ,instruments ,electronics , atvs and that is my source of income like I bought a 92 firebird last week for 150 bucks I sold it this week for 5oo, I traded something that I paid 75 bucks for , for a gibson les paul which anyone who knows a real les paul is worth at least a grand fortunatley my flow in other items has been working so i am still playing this one lol . I am honestly a hustler I have never taken a loss worth crying over but I have made plenty of profits I mean I am 19 I have around 30,000 in assests acquired by myself no help .I am not worried about losing money I just need to be able to read the charts.
